Fine lines are the first signs of skin ageing. These creases in the skin, less pronounced than wrinkles, distinguish themselves from the latter by the depth of their grooves.
The symbolic millimetre
You’ve always wondered how to distinguish between fine lines and wrinkles. It’s easy: less than 1 millimetre it’s a fine line, more and it’s a wrinkle!
Fine lines and wrinkles: shared origins
Wrinkles and fine lines have the same origin which is natural ageing, accelerated or not by internal or external factors. In reality, everything depends on each person’s lifestyle. With time, the quantity of collagen and elastin decreases. The skin, less toned, relaxes, and the fibres break. Fine lines end up by finding their place in the hollows of the face, in the corner of the eyes or around the mouth. Like all wrinkles, they can appear very early, between 20 and 30 years in some people.
